Preventive Maintenance (PM)
A planned PM visit costs far less than an emergency call in the middle of a case schedule. Hill Imaging performs scheduled preventive maintenance on C-arms, mini C-arms and x-ray rooms, following the manufacturer's checklist plus what we've learned in the field.

What a PM visit includes
- Mechanical inspection: locks, brakes, casters, cables, counterbalance and motion
- Electrical safety and leakage checks
- Generator verification: kVp, mA and exposure time
- Image quality check and monitor review
- Collimator and light-field alignment
- Cleaning of fans, filters and vents
- Review of error logs for early warning signs
- Interlocks, exposure switches and emergency stops
- Written PM report for your records
How often
Most equipment calls for a PM every 6 or 12 months, depending on the manufacturer and how hard the system works. Busy surgery-center C-arms usually benefit from the shorter interval.

What if the PM finds a problem?
We'll tell you what we found and what it takes to fix it. Small adjustments are usually handled during the visit.
